Brownfield, Texas – On Thursday, August 15, 2013, the Brownfield Industrial Development Corporation (BIDCorp) will be co-hosting the Governor’s Small Business Forum in Lamesa, Texas, along with the Texas Workforce Commission and Governor’s Office. Additional host partners include the Big Spring EDC, Denver City EDC, Seminole EDC, and Lamesa Economic Alliance Project (LEAP). The forum will be held at the Forrest Park Community Center, 814 South Houston Ave., Lamesa, Texas.
After a brief welcome, noted economist Dr. Ray Perryman will be the keynote speaker followed by a presentation by Workforce Solutions Permian Basin on the Skills Development Fund and other Workforce programs. After a short break there will be a panel on access to capital featuring private lenders followed by a panel featuring representatives from the oil and gas industry discussing contract opportunities and procedures. During lunch local small businesses will be recognized for their achievements by the Governor’s Office.
Governor’s Small Business Forums give entrepreneurs and small businesses the valuable tools, skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s fast-paced economy. Featuring a wide range of instructive seminars and expert speakers offering vital information on both public and private resources, the forums offer a great opportunity to network and connect with industry specialists, government officials, service providers and other regional businesses.
