Oilfield services giant Halliburton is gearing up to once again hire drivers in Brownfield.
Susan Lefevere is the Director of the South Plains Workforce Solutions Center, and she said the company has notified her that Halliburton is seeking 20 new CDL drivers starting this month.
And that number will increase by 20 locally each month until the company has reached the desired amount of CDL drivers needed.
“Everybody has to reapply,” she said. “It’s not like they call back the people who they laid off. They have to reapply just like a new person.”
According to Lefevere, Halliburton is looking for drivers with Class A CDL license. They must also have a tanker endorsement as well as a Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME). They should also have at least one-year experience as an operation assistant.
Lefevere said she is encouraging local drivers who meet those qualifications to contact her office. They can also visit the Halliburton website to apply for the open positions.
Lefevere said the oilfield services company will begin interviewing Jun. 13.
“Everybody has to get their information in now, or they won’t get an interview,” Lefevere said.
Recently Halliburton has added a little over114 new jobs to the local yard. Currently 252 people in Brownfield are being employed by the company, with that number expected to rise.
